Veneers are more affordable than ever at MyDental and are an excellent way to restore the true brilliance of your smile. And it’s a lot simpler than you think!

Let’s imagine that you had a favourite piece of furniture that had been in the family for generations. Over the years, chances are that it would have become a tad dull, maybe had the odd scrape or two that took some of the look off it.

So what would you do? Throw it out and buy another? Hardly – when all it really needed is a splash of varnish or a bit of touching up.

Thankfully, a similar principle holds true when your teeth start to lose their perfect appearance – or when you have an accident or misadventure that damages the tooth in some way.

Rather than throwing out the tooth – in the form of an extraction – your dentist is very likely to opt for a veneer, which restores not just the look of the tooth but also its structural integrity.

What are veneers?

Veneers are almost indistinguishable from your original teeth, so you may well have friends or family members who have got some already, but you’d be genuinely hard pressed to spot it – unless they’ve told you about it.

People who have a veneer fitted are normally suffering from one of two conditions. Firstly, a lifetime of smoking, tea or wine drinking may have eventually permanently discoloured the teeth, and they simply don’t respond any more – even to professional cleaning.

The second reason is that the outer surface of the tooth has become damaged – possibly as a result of an accident, or possibly as a result of neglect over a number of years.

The remedy in both instances is a veneer, which is a super-thin material that your dentist places on top of the tooth or teeth in question. This might give the impression that it’s not a particularly strong or robust form of treatment – but the exact opposite is the case.

A strong and durable treatment

While a veneer may be very slim, it’s also very durable, so you’re free to bite into that big apple or chomp on that steak, safe in the knowledge that your new veneer is absolutely dependable. It’s fixed in place with a special sort of dental cement which is super-strong and super-reliable. We’ve never has a single case, here at MyDental, of someone returning and telling us that their veneer has come loose.

Dental veneers are not just brilliantly strong and brilliantly beautiful, but they’re almost totally invisible to the naked eye. So it’s really the perfect treatment – something that works a treat in functional terms, and that looks as natural as your original teeth!

Lots of benefits

Regardless of why you’re having a veneer treatment (discolouration or damage), the benefits are extensive:

  • It’s a relatively non-invasive treatment, with very little discomfort.
  • They’re more affordable than you think, especially when you avail of our 0% Dental Finance Plan.
  • Your dentist can shape them and colour them to match your existing teeth.
  • They are really strong and dependable and should last you a lifetime.
  • They can fully restore your smile to its glorious best.

Which type of veneer do I need?

If your dentist has spotted a problem and believes that a veneer is easy there are two types that he can opt for – a porcelain veneer or a composite veneer. Neither of them is better than the other, per se. It’s simply a matter of horses for courses and your dentist will know what’s right for you.

If he has opted for a composite veneer, he has the choice of building up the veneer in your mouth or having it made in a dental laboratory by a qualified professional. With the porcelain veneer, however, it can only be manufactured in the laboratory.

More affordable than you think.

If your dentist has told you that you need veneers Dublin is as good a centre as anywhere in the world to have the treatment. They’re very affordable – particularly when you avail of our 0% Interest Dental Plan.

And when it comes to cost, we are very open and transparent in displaying our fees for all treatments, in accordance with the code of practice of the Irish Dental Council – http://www.dentalcouncil.ie/displayoffees.php
