Don't put up with overcrowded or crooked teeth when a perfectly straight smile is so readily available. Here’s how!

Our inbox almost exploded yesterday after we posted our blog – simply because we made reference to the ‘C’ word. Yep – we suggested that people might like to have their smiles restored in time for Christmas!

Well you might be surprised to hear that Christmas is one of the main drivers of business for the dental profession. And at the risk of sounding a tad sexist, women are the main drivers of this rush to have everything in order for the party season.

So not just do they make sure that they they’ve got the perfect ‘little black number’ sorted and that they’ve got the perfect, party-ready body – they also check in with us in droves to make sure that their smile is in great shape.

For some of our more ‘obedient’ patients, this can simply mean a quick polishing or perhaps a teeth whitening treatment. But for an increasing number of patients, they’re making the move in mid-summer to have their teeth straightened in time for Christmas.

This timeframe might surprise you, as the treatment took two years or more in the not so distant past. These days, however, six months is sufficient for the modern generation of clear braces to do their work.

And if you didn’t know better, you might be tempted to think that this quicker job would be somehow less effective. The exact opposite is true, as the new iteration of braces do a simply wonderful job – even when faced with heavy overcrowding or very crooked teeth.

And there are a number of other benefits as well. For starters, they exert a very gentle pressure, so they're much more comfortable to wear. Also, they’re very small and very discreet – compared to the old-fashioned train tracks – so people wearing them feel much less self-conscious.

This is particularly important when you're in your teens, as it's a time of life when your confidence levels may not yet be at adult levels.

Another benefit of the newer form of braces is that you can eat pretty much anything you want. There’s no need to avoid biting into an apple, for example, or chomping on a steak.

And the final benefit might genuinely surprise you. You'd be inclined to think that such a revolutionary new form of treatment would cost a small fortune. This is not the case – and here’s why. Because you spend much less time in the dentist’s chair, we can afford to charge you less for our professional attendances.

And remember that you don't have to fork out for your treatment all at once. Instead, you can opt to avail of our 0% Dental Finance Plan. This means that you can spread the cost over three months, six months or nine months – and it won't cost you a red cent in interest!

So when you find yourself at one of those numerous Christmas parties this year, see if you can spot any of your circle of friends who seem to have a straighter smile these days.
