It’s never been easier to find a permanent fix to the problem of a missing tooth. Here’s what you need to know.

There was a time, not so long ago, when the height of communication sophistication was dial-up broadband. Do you remember it? Those awful, clunky noises as your phone line struggled to make contact with the Internet. Then the seemingly interminable wait while you loaded even the most simplistic of web pages.

Today, we are privileged to enjoy speeds of several hundred Mb in certain parts of the country. And things will accelerate even further in the coming years as our need for speed and for bandwidth continues to grow.

Such giant leaps forward in technology are seen in very few other areas, but all human endeavours become smarter and slicker with the passing of time. This is very definitely true in the field of dentistry, and the equipment that you’ll find in a modern dental surgery would have been unheard of just a couple of decades ago.

The drop in teeth implant prices

And one of the big consumer benefits from all of this is that, as improvements take hold, prices are coming down at the same time. Teeth implant prices, for example, are barely recognisable from what they would have been just a decade ago.

Why so? Because as the dental technology gets better and dental processes become more streamlines, we can afford to charge our clients less – simply because they spend less time in the dentist’s chair, and take up less of our time.

But despite the fact that prices are lower these days, the solutions that we offer are better than ever. Teeth implants – also known as dental implants – are a far more successful way of replacing a missing tooth (or teeth).

For starters, they don't slip in your mouth (unlike dentures), so you can be sure that your implants will never embarrass you in social situations.

They’re also way more comfortable than dentures, and once you’ve had your implant fitted, you’ll very soon forget that you're wearing one. Another plus is the fact that you don't have to take your implants out to clean them. You just brush and floss your teeth as usual, and if you do so, your implant should easily last you a lifetime.

Another thing that our patients remark is that their dental implants are way more authentic looking than dentures. They are shaped and coloured to fit in identically with the surrounding teeth, so unless you choose to confess, nobody will even know that you’ve had dental work done.

What about getting treatment abroad?

If you read the newspapers or watch TV, you’ve probably seen those ads for so-called cheap dental implants in various locations around Europe. You need to be very careful before going down this road.

First of all, what’s the real cost of your treatment after you've added in the cost of air travel, hotel accommodation plus your living costs while abroad. And then you have to ask yourself what happens if you have a problem afterwards. Do you have to go travelling all over again?
