The modern miracle that is dental implants.
If you're in the market for a Hollywood smile, here’s some info you really need to know.
Have you ever met one of those people who are literally “a mine of information”? Well, it happened to us just last week. We had a new patient in the surgery who was looking to have some extensive cosmetic work done on his smile.
In the middle of our chat with him, he casually mentioned that he was in very good company in going down the cosmetic route – then proceeded to spit out a whole host of globally-known stars who have trod this path before him. We can’t remember half of them, but here’s a list of the ones that stuck in our memory for some reason or other.
The first one he mentioned was Tom Cruise, who apparently had a lot of work done very early in his career. So next time you see that perfect, dazzling smile, you’ll know what’s behind it!
Another one he mentioned was singer and Reality TV star, Cheryl Cole. We’ve always thought that she has a brilliant smile. Well now we know why!
A further star mentioned was George Clooney. Gorgeous George apparently has a full set of veneers, but this is not just for cosmetic reasons. He’s one of a large cohort of people who grind their teeth when stressed, hence the need for a new set of veneers.
Then there was Zac Effron. Before he shot to stardom in High School Musical, his smile apparently left a lot to be desired, so we went the cosmetic route.
Others that we remember from the list trotted out by our patient included Nicolas Cage, Victoria Beckham and Ben Affleck. Not to mention our own Louis Walsh, who obviously didn’t want to be outshone on X Factor by Cheryl Cole!
Each and every one of these celebs would have had different issues to be sorted, but all of them have come out the other end of their treatment with results to be really proud of.
And here’s the real point of this blog. In bygone days, such treatment would have been the preserve of Hollywood superstars and other well-paid celebs. But these days, it's available to all. Treatments like dental implants cost a fraction of what they used to, and can restore even the most challenged of smiles in a brilliantly effective way that restores functionality as well as good looks.
This means that the George Clooneys and Tom Cruises of this world not just look great, but can tackle all their favourite foods with full confidence in their dental treatments. Nothing is going to move out of place or break under pressure. It's exactly like having your original teeth – only better!
And remember that if you’re considering dental implants Dublin is just as good as Hollywood when it comes to sourcing great treatment. So why not make it your resolution for 2017 that you’ll have the smile you really want? You're worth it!
