Veneers cost just €450 – can you afford not to?
The benefits of veneers can list you a lifetime. Here’s how.
We’ve written on many occasions in our humble blog about famous celebrities who had cosmetic dentistry carried out to enhance their appearance. Whether singers or movie stars, they believed that they’d get an extra edge if they had a beautiful set of pearly whites.
But today, we’ve got a somewhat different story for you – a tale of a man who deliberately looked to have treatment that didn’t improve things.
The man in question is Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of Britain from 1940 to 1945 and a central part of England’s wartime resistance against the might of Nazi Germany. He was a truly larger than life figure, and one who has been consistently voted as the most influential figure ever in British history.
He was also one of only eight people to ne made an honourary citizen of the United States back in 1963. He also served as Prime Minister in the fifties, and a half century of political activism saw him hold numerous cabinet positions.
But undoubtedly, what defined him was his belligerence in the face of Nazism and his numerous speeches which rallied the people of England. Among the most famous of these of course, is “We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” Powerful stuff from a powerful man.
But back to the point of our blog – why was Churchill notable from a dental point of view? Well, part of Churchill’s ‘signature’ was a small lisp that seemed to endear him to the English public. When the time came for him to have dentures fitted, his instructions to his dentist were very specific – he wanted to retain his lisp!
This totally flies in the face of the behaviour of today’s patients, who always want things made perfect after treatment, whether it's crowns, implants or veneers.
Though our patients might not be celebrities, veneers cost so little these days in relative terms that they are becoming a very common sight in any gathering of people. If you happen to be wondering how much are veneers, it might surprise you to hear that our prices start at just €450 a pop.
And when you consider how big a difference they make to your smile – and how long they last you for – we think this represents excellent value for money. It’s a very small price to pay for the confidence you get from having a brilliant, white smile.
Remember, too, that when it comes to veneers Dublin is home to some wonderfully talented dentists who will do a great job for you. We put ourselves at the top of that list, of course, due to our innate sense of modesty!
